| 12/30/2003 Federation of Animal Science Societies Welcomes Interim Scientific Liaison Dr. Meeker is an animal production and agribusiness consultant on topics such as business planning, marketing, production, genetics, international trade, food safety, animal welfare and environmental issues. He has extensive teaching, publishing, and speaking experience, both domestic and international, and serves on numerous advisory boards. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs for The National Turkey Federation. Prior to that, Meeker served as Director of the Board on Agriculture and Natural Resources at the National Research Council in Washington. He also has extensive knowledge of the pork industry, with experience as both an Associate Professor of Animal Science and Coordinator of the Ohio Pork Industry Center at The Ohio State University, and Vice President, Research and Education, of The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC).
