The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), U.S. Sheep Experiment Station, Range Sheep Production Efficiency Unit, Dubois, ID, is seeking an innovative Research Geneticist (Animal) for a postdoctoral position. The researcher will be expected to develop and(or) use modern statistical genetics approaches to evaluate the breeding potential of sheep and to determine the impact of long-term single-trait and multitrait selection on various measures of sheep productivity. The scientist will be responsible for disseminating research results at scientific meetings and in peer-reviewed scientific publications. A Ph.D. in Animal Breeding or Genetics or a closely related field is required. Knowledge of animal breeding and population genetics, experimental design and statistics, and livestock production is required. Citizenship restrictions apply.
