Instructor, Department of Animal Sciences, Oregon State University. Responsibilities include directing the day to day operation of the Clark Meat Science Center; providing instruction in ANS 231 Livestock Evaluation; ANS 251 Principles of Animal Foods Technology; and ANS 331 Advanced Livestock Evaluation; providing support in carcass, meat and live animal evaluation, meat related research and meats processing; and advising undergraduate students. Position is a fulltime, 12-month, fixed-term position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Required qualifications include a master’s degree in Animal Science or Food Science or closely related field; demonstrable knowledge and experience in meat science and processing and live animal evaluation, demonstrated ability to function as part of a team and to plan, organize, evaluate, manage and delegate details associated with individual and team programs, the ability to lift or carry objects weighing 50-100 pounds is required. Preferred qualifications include HAACP training; a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity; excellent written and verbal skills; general knowledge of computers, and skills for use of word processing, presentation and data management softwares; ability to develop extramural funding and program development and enhancement.
