The School of Agriculture, Research, Extension, and Applied Sciences (AREAS) is seeking qualified applicants for a non-tenure track position of Research Scientist/Assistant Professor to implement/develop research projects and programs in the area of swine species, involving pasture pork production, nutrition, and pork quality characteristics. The selected candidate will develop new research areas designed to enhance the efficiency of swine productivity in the southern United States and assist limited resource producers in developing pasture-based production and marketing. Additional responsibilities will include supervising graduate student’s research as well as undergraduate experiential learning. Skills and abilities desired include: grantsmanship and experimental designs, biochemical and physiological implication of nutrition and management of swine species. Demonstrated skills in computer application technology, muscle microanatomy and biochemistry. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. degree in Animal Science, Monogastric Nutrition, Physiology, or related disciplines with strong background in porcine species.
