The goal of FASS is to "Develop seminars and forums
that will assist
individuals in the four market areas (Consumers, Industry, Producers,
and Academia) to become more successful in their chosen field."
Farm Animal Welfare Audits:
Reality Check The seminar, entitled Farm Animal Welfare Audits: Reality Check, held July 25, 2004, reviewed the current circumstances surrounding animal welfare auditing, provided a brief background to this practice and the general practice of auditing in other forums, and allowed participants to interact with one another and with seminar speakers to share and expand upon the knowledge base in this emerging area of public and scientific concern. |
Avian Influenza: The seminar, focused on avian influenza, will provide a basic introduction
to the disease; provide a brief presentation of issues surrounding
the disease, including Federal policy overview, economic impact,
diagnostics, strategies of response, human crossover, and bioterrorism.
