Statement of Purpose:
The FASS professional seminar series are intended to provide current information on emerging topics important to animal industry professionals. This program will address recent developments in animal welfare assessment/auditing by the food retail industry and information concerning best practice and current concerns in the auditing of farm animal enterprises. This is not meant to be an endorsement nor disapproval of auditing practice or specific auditors. Speakers will approach their topic in the spirit of sharing information with the greater scientific/professional community.
The target audience is academic, veterinary, industry, and government professionals. The FASS exhibitor program will also feature assessment/auditing services currently available to animal agriculture. This is a pre-conference seminar held prior to the combined annual meetings of the American Society of Animal Science, American Dairy Science Association, and the Poultry Science Association in St. Louis.
