    HR Specialist (Part Time)

    Responsibilities
    In collaboration with the executive director, responsible for developing and implementing the HR strategy for the company. This includes HR strategic planning, total rewards, talent acquisition, benefits, retention, learning & development, diversity & inclusion, safety, and risk management. Recommends, develops, and implements policies and procedures which drive employee engagement leading to successful business outcomes. As an HR department of one, is responsible for wearing many hats and conducting a mixture of strategic and tactical HR duties including recruiting, benefit enrollments, and payroll.

    This position is part-time 15-30 hours a week.

    Accountabilities

    • Recommend, develop, and implement the HR strategy for FASS, Inc., working in conjunction with the executive director on strategic and organizational development HR initiatives to ensure board of director and company goals are being achieved.
    • Ensure FASS benefit plans maintain compliance with DOL, ERISA, and HIPAA plan regulations; accurately manage FASS Welfare Benefit Plan, Section 125 Plan, and 403(b) Plan with fiduciary prudence.
    • Oversee casualty and safety programs at FASS.
    • Conduct tactical HR activities on a day-to-day and as-needed basis, including bi-weekly processing of payroll.

    Who You Are...

    • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Organizational Development, or related field required.
    • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred, or ability to obtain with six months.
    • Minimum of five years of experience in one or more aspects of human resources management.
    • At least three years of experience with benefits administration required.
    • Previous experience with Accounting is a plus.

    FASS Jobs Board

    The FASS Job Resource Center, a common service of FASS members and clients, was created to promote the efficient linking of open positions with scientists, in support of the tax exempt mission of each of the participating societies, to serve and advance the field of animal science and ensure its efficient operation. Members of any one of the FASS clients are provided with the opportunity to notify the scientific community of openings online for a reasonable fee. Nonmembers may also post position announcements online according to a separate fee schedule.

    The cost for posting a position opening is $150 for anyone who is a member of ADSA, AAFCO, AETA, ARPAS, ESS, IETS, ISAG, and NCFAR. This fee includes online announcements.

    Nonmembers may post an announcement online for $250.

    All position announcements must be paid for online using a credit card before the submission will be accepted.
